"FULCRUM" is a Denver, Colorado based modern rock group that includes singer and guitarist Jason Marino, guitarist Oscar Jara, drummer Mauricio Alexander Jara, and bass player Sasha Moonitz. Fulcrum’s music embraces a fresh take on modern hard rock, paying extra attention to the lost art of melody, with accommodating use of electro synthesizers typically heard in genres like dub-step and house. Extremely focused on writing strong, accessible material, songwriter Jason admires and is influenced by contemporary pop hit-makers like Brandon Boyd of Incubus and Matthew Bellamy of Muse. Fulcrum has recorded with producer Andrew Berlin (Rise Against/Tickle Me Pink) at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO, and are currently recording new material in a studio up in the Colorado mountains. Via a meld of alternative pop, post-grunge and modern electronica, Fulcrum’s song-craft, contagious melodies and expert musicianship is drawing comparison to current chartbusters like Incubus, Muse, MuteMath, and Nine Inch Nails.

Fulcrum’s songs have been getting radio airplay on both college and commercial radio stations across Colorado, as well as in markets as far away as London, which is quite exciting. The band has garnered airplay at large market stations including “Denver’s Independent Alternative” (101.5 FM) and "MileHighUnderground.com", while Denver’s mainstream radio station KTCL (93.3 FM) has added Fulcrum to its play list for both daytime airplay and its “Locals Only” show. In addition to being the #1 most-voted-for rock artist in Colorado on MTV2's On The Rise, Fulcrum is securing press coverage both online and in print (Colorado Music Buzz Magazine featured Fulcrum on the top of its list of “27 Artists to Watch For ’09”, in addition to a featured spread in the October 2010 issue) and have done several radio station interviews in Colorado and surrounding states.

Since their debut live show in early 2006, Fulcrum plays out on the average of several times per month, with the frequency of bookings having steadily increased. In December 2008, Fulcrum performed at the locally famed Hometown for the Holidays competition – sponsored by radio station KTCL 93.3 FM – where they placed in the Top 3 out of over 200 bands. Fulcrum returned the following year with a new single "Always", placing in the contest again in 2009. The group is now consistently being booked at large venues, major universities, music festivals, and performed a headlining set at Broomstock 2011, the largest local music festival in the state. In September 2011, the band placed 3rd in Channel 93.3's BIG GIG contest, where they were voted to play the local stage at the BLINK 182 / MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE tour date in Denver, CO. Also during the summer of 2008 they played during the Democratic National Convention as part of the Green Frontier Music Festival, as well as the Tent State Music Festival which featured Rage Against The Machine.

Most recently the band has been in the studio at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO, working on a highly anticipated new full length release scheduled for December 2011.
