Why are some people successful and others not? What is the secret? Surely there must be a formula to follow. Well actually, yes, there is. I've discovered it. It's called hard work, this entails doing things that most people aren't prepared to do.

There is no exception to the rule of hard work, nobody ever became successful through putting in the same work ethic as everybody else.

I meet people all over the world who want to be successful, who want to be rich and who want to achieve their personal goals, but when it comes down to it they do exactly the same as everybody else, when actually, you need to do the things that others aren't doing.

I've met people who want to succeed, but are not prepared to give up watching Eastenders each night. Imagine if you stopped watching Eastenders, that is an extra 30 minutes per episode, an extra 2 hours per week, an extra 104 hours per year you add into your life to invest into something however you wish.

Ever heard the saying 'practice makes perfect?' Research says that it takes 10,000 hours to become a master at something. You see, it comes down to hours, not talent. Remember, hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

Put in the extra hours in 2013, go the extra mile, do what others will not and you will have the life that you envisaged. If you continue to do what you have always done, you will get the same results you have always got.

What you do between 9 and 5 is important, but what you do between 5 and 9 is what will make you ultimately successful.

  • Sorry it took so long to respond, but I agree 100% that in order to be successful we have to be leaders instead of following what everyone else is doing. In some cases I have had to learn that lesson the hard way, but I have also learned a lot along the way, and I know in order to achieve my goals I have to step outside the box and try things I never tried, then eventually my hard work will pay off. Good post look forward to future posts take care
